Hurray! You are one step closer to experiencing the next frontier of human-computer interaction. Here is an overview of the next steps:
- Get an intraoral 3D scan of your upper mouth.
- With your scan, we will design and build your custom MouthPad^. Production of the next batch kicks off in July 2025.
- Once your device is shipped, we will send an email with tracking info and a link to our MouthPad^ Onboarding Guide, including instructions for your self-guided device fitting.
- In our virtual onboarding portal, you’ll learn how to customize your MouthPad^s settings and controls to your preferences through a series of games and training modules.
- If you need any help during setup — or into the future — our team is happy to jump on a call to assist with adjustments and answer any questions you might have.
Scanning Process
- After your purchase, you’ll receive an email referring you to a local dentist or orthodontist for your intraoral 3D scan — a fairly quick, standard process. If we don’t have an accessible scanning partner nearby, we will immediately start looking. We are also happy to work with your personal dentist: Just respond to our email with their contact info and we will reach out to discuss the details with them.
- We specifically need access to an intraoral 3D scanner — not a CT.
- Please do not schedule a MouthPad^ scan with your personal dentist until we’ve had a chance to confirm necessary details with them. We will confirm this with you ASAP.
- Augmental will cover 100% of the scan cost.
- The scan requires a relatively wide mouth opening: Here is a sample photo of the process. If you’ve already ordered a device but have concerns about your jaw range, please reach out to [email protected].
- Before your scan, we recommend getting a dental cleaning and check-up. Plaque buildup could affect your scan, and an oral exam could indicate work that would need to be completed in advance of your 3D scan (such as a crown or extraction).
